CMB is short for Canada Mortgage Bond.
The CMB market is a securitization method. It lets lenders sell pools of mortgages to investors. Lenders take the capital raised from CMB issuances and lend it out as new mortgages. They then package up those mortgages, sell them, and the cycle happens all over again.
